The concept of senior healthcare & living always involves strict medical requirements and the quest for scenic view and outdoor public space. In this project the above two requests are fulfilled through the elevation of functional spaces and creation of ground level artificial landscape.
The whole above-ground level forms a branch network that spreads out on site, in which multiple medical facilities act as sub-centers. Together with the surrounding living units, clinical stations and family rooms they form interconnected healthcare & living clusters.
Diverse topography is created on the ground level after the removal of on-site industrial buildings. It becomes Boston’s Central Park, and also recalls the memory of the site’s pre-industrial times.
