The facades and roof of this seven level parking structure adjacent to Blake Transit Center is redesigned for energy performance and sustainability.
A new roof canopy equipped with 30 degree southern tilted PV panels is put on top of the existing roof parking level as both shading and energy production. The parking structure’s spandrel walls of all facades except north facade are also integrated with PV panels. Green wall modules and water wall modules are mounted at the exterior wall for exhaust filter and rainwater harvesting. Rain water is filtered and stored in those water wall modules and used for irrigation of the green wall modules through water pipes and pumps.
The entire building enclosure becomes a self sufficient energy production and environmental control system, a new patterned skin to parking structures’ mundane appearance.
